Former Chief Minister of Pakistan, Yousuf Raza Gilani, resigned as Senior Vice President of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) followed the defeat in general elections from Multan constituency, reported Geo News.

One may think or have doubts about the cause of resignation as the abduction of his son, Haider Gilani. While election campaigns were on their best, on the last day of campaigns, Gilani’s son, Haider Gilani was abducted by an unidentified gunmen. Haider Gilani was a candidate of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP), contesting elections from Multan constituency.

As general elections’ result hits the public, unofficially, it’s was found out missing Ali Haider lost PP-200 Multan seat, securing a total of 5,386 votes. A candidate of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Mr Shaukat Khan, won the rivalry securing 11,868 in total and emerged as the victor.
